Sur les 88 constellations pratiquées par l’Union Astronomique Internationale (UAI), 48 existaient déjà du temps des Grecs qui en devaient eux-mêmes la moitié à Babylone, notamment les 12 constellations du zodiaque. Quant aux étoiles, les deux tiers possèdent un nom usuel arabe dont les plus célèbres sont Aldébaran, Altaïr, Bételgeuse, Rigel ou Véga.
لدى اليونانيين، الذين كانوا أخذوا نصفها تقريباً من بلاد الرافدين. ونخص بالذكر منها الأفلاك الإثنى عشر التي يتكون منها فلك البروج. أما النجوم فإن ثلثيها تحمل أسماء عربية تُعرف بها، من أشهرها: الدبران، الطائر، يد الجوزة، الرجل، والنسر الواقع
Out of the 88 constellations used by the International Union of Astronomy (IUA), 48 were already in existence in Ancient Greece, which itself inherited half of them from Babylon, in particular the twelve constel-lations of the zodiac. As for the stars, two-thirds are commonly known by Arabic names, the most famous being Aldebaran, Altair, Betelgueuse, Rigel and Vega.

L’évocation des figures célestes, la richesse des mythes qu’elles recèlent avec leur charge de merveilleux souvent méconnue, parle directement au cœur des hommes par dessus les frontières du temps et de l’espace. Elle permet de mettre en valeur un patrimoine commun auquel ont contribué toutes les civilisations des deux rives de la Méditerranée, et constitue un moyen efficace et heureux de meilleure connaissance réciproque des peuples.

Le projet en deux mots
Il s’agit de réaliser, dans un but éducatif, une représentation comparative des voûtes célestes mésopotamienne, grecque, arabe et contemporaine, et de les mettre à la disposition gratuite des planétariums des pays des deux rives de la Méditerranée, puis de les adapter à tous autres supports utiles : globes, planisphères, DVD, site internet, etc.; puis d’entreprendre la publication d'ouvrages classiques permettant la connaissance des textes classiques des différentes civilisations qui ont contribué à la formation de nos figures célestes.
La Selefa invite dès à présent tous ceux qui souhaitent le succès de ce projet à le soutenir en le parrainant ou en contribuant au financement de l’étude et de sa mise en place, et elle appelle toutes les institutions, associations ou fondations qui désirent relever ce défi à construire un partenariat pour sa réalisation.

تخاطب صور الفلك، والأساطير الثرية التي تشتمل عليها وما تثيره من إحساس بالخارق المجهول، تخاطب مباشرة قلوب الناس في كل مكان وزمان. إنها تتيح إبراز التراث المشترك الذي ساهمت في خلقه كل حضارات ضفتي المتوسط من غير استثناء، كما أنها تشكل وسيلة فعالة وأنيقة لتعرف الشعوب على بعضها بشكل أفضل.
المشروع بكلمتين
يهدف المشروع من منظار تربوي إنجاز مرتسمات مقارنة لقبة السماء بحسب بلاد النهرين، اليونان، العرب، والزمن المعاصر وإلى وضعها مجاناً في متناول جمهور مدن ضفتي المتوسط، ثم القيام بتكييفها لصالح الوسائط الأخرى كمثل المجسمات، الأقراص المدمجة، الـ DVD، شبكة الانترنيت، إلخ.
تتطلع سيلفا أولاً إلى أولئك الذين يرغبون المساهمة في إنجاح هذا المشروع عن طريق تبنيه و/أو الإسهام معها في تمويل إعداده، وتناشد ثانياً تلك المؤسسات التي تود أن تقيم معها علاقات تشارك لإنجازه.

The celestial figures evoked and the complexity of the myths in which they are embedded, with their often unknown supernatural charge, speak directly to the hearts of men and women across the barriers of space and time. They allow us to highlight a common heritage to which all Mediterranean civilisations have contributed; and they constitute an effective means whereby people from different cultures can improve their mutual understanding.

The project in a nutshell
The idea is to create, for educational purposes, a comparative representation of the heavens in Mesopotamian, Greek, Arab and contemporary cultures. This would be made available to planetariums in countries all around the Mediterranean, and then adapted to other vehicles of communication: globes, planispheres, DVDs, websites, etc.
The Selefa invites from now on all those wishing the success of this projet to patronate it or contribute to its study and set it up, and calls the institutions, associations and foundations ready to take up the challenge to build a partneship for its achievement.
